“MOST OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE of the Year” awarded to BMC Blood Bank OIC—Section Head

Ms. Maria Luisa G. Camposano, the Blood Bank OIC- Section Head is one of the most outstanding employee awardees for the year 2008. The award is being given to Bicol Medical Center personnel who performed exemplary deeds beyond and above his duty as BMC staff. Aside from her duty as Blood Bank OIC, Ms. Camposano is the Microbiology Section head. She is also an active member of several committees of the hospital specifically the Infectious control committee.

An advocate of quality assurance, she is a regular speaker of meetings, lectures and workshops conducted by the institution and the Department of Health. Ms Camposano is also the current President of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologist (PAMET) - Camarines Sur chapter.

The annual award was an idea of by then Medical Center Chief Dr. Edgar Esplana and the Management Committee. It aims to give recognition to model employees of this institution. It is an annual event given every December during the Christmas party celebration of the BMC. For the past three years, the Blood Bank and Transfusion Service had produced three model staff committed to the mandate of his office and to the ideals of the civil service. The first Blood Bank staff BMC awardee was Mr. Mario Cecilio R. Chavez, the BMC-NVBSP program coordinator. Mr. Chavez was one of the nominees of the initial awards screened by then CMPS Dr. Ruben Penafiel and Chief Training Officer Dr. Efren SJ. Nerva. The nominations were given by the different division heads and department chairs. Evaluations of the candidates are being done by an awards committee. In 2007, the awardee is Dr. Raymund Ibarrientos, the current Blood Bank Head.
