2008 NVBSP Highlights

- Hosted the 2nd National Blood Summit last June 13-14, 2008 together with the DOH-CHD-Bicol
- Facilitates in making a Philippine Record nationally recognized - “Paduruguan ‘08” in Calabanga, Cam. Sur
- Visited by WHO, Country Representative Dr. Soe Nyunt-U during the Photo Exhibit and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - World Blood Donor Day ‘08 in BMC
- Established Blood Program to 93% in the municipalities of Camarines Sur
- Recorded the highest blood collection in a municipal level in one setting - Tinambac, Cam. Sur with 400 voluntary donors
- Recorded the highest blood collection in a university - “Dugong Atenista” in Ateneo de Naga with 187 voluntary donors
- Initiated and spearheaded the week-long activity - “Dugong Oragon Festival” in Bula, Cam Sur; collected 520 units of blood
- Implemented the Zero Replacement Policy and enforced 100% voluntary blood donation - Nov. ‘08
